The Greater Manchester Churches Preservation Society - Keeping our Church and Chapel Heritage Alive

The GREATER MANCHESTER CHURCHES PRESERVATION SOCIETY

Welcome to our Home Page!

GREATER MANCHESTER CHURCHES PRESERVATION SOCIETY was launched on 28th October in 2006 at the Fairfield Moravian Settlement in Droylsden under the auspices of the National Churches Trust (then known as the Historic Churches Preservation Trust).

The Society has the support of the leaders of most of the main denominations in Greater Manchester and is under the Patronage of the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Warren Smith, Esq. JP.

Its aims are both educational and practical. Educational in raising awareness of the rich variety of church buildings in Greater Manchester and practical in the longer term by raising funds to allow the Society to make grants for repairs to those buildings.

The Society invites individuals, churches and corporate bodies to become members on payment of an annual subscription. In return the Society will issue a regular Newsletter and invite members to a series of evening or day events which will explore and explain some of our rich stock of buildings of all denominations. Events will be held around Greater Manchester in the buildings themselves.
